Mangal Singh Champia, a 24 year old archer
from the
village of Ichakuti, Jharkhand is a good prospect to
join Indian Olypic team to Bejing ,China.
A first of its kind for Bihar, a Software Technology
Park (STP) -49 in India-was set up in Patna on Feb
22, 2008 to provide space, computer and unintrupted
electricity to small software development firms.
BJANA adopted Philanthropy Projects
We are pleased to anounced the setting up of 'Friends
of Bihar Matching Grant Challenge Fund'. This Fund
will match 100% for each dollar contributed by BJANA
members during 2008. Dr. Brijendra Kumar of
Wilmington, DE has already contributed $1,000 to this
Challenge Fund. Pleas join him for this worthy cause.
1. Bharat Vikash Parishad Viklang Nyas and Hospital,
headquatered in Patna and engaged in providing free
of charge artificial limbs and vocational training
to handicapped persons throughout Bihar and
Jharkhand. It has built a 3-story Hospital in Pahari,
Patna at a cost of $200,000. Presently it is equipping
the Hospital with 2 Operation Theaters and 20 beds
surgery ward still needing $35,000. You may be proud
and pleased that BJANA has contributed $5000 and plan
to contribute $5000 to $10,000 this year.
This organization has been serving our two states
since 1999 and on average has fitted artificial limbs
to approx 900 persons each year.
2. Village Hope Foundation Operating a primary
and
secondary school in a tribal village in Simdega,
Jharkhand. A 2-story building is being construced on
a donated land. We have pledged $1,000 donation.
These two NGO projects are actively supported by two
non-Bihari NRIs living in tri-state area. BJANA is a
501(c) tax exempt organization and all contributions
are tax deductible. Make a Difference. Please
contribute at least $100 and be A Friend of Bihar.

Welcome party of Arjun
Munda at Dr. Avnash Gupta's residence, Toms River
Welcome party for "Arjun Munda" (Jharkhand
opposition leader) held at the residence of Dr. Avinash Gupta
on 13th October. Approximately 20 Bihari doctors, engineers
and businessmen families from South and Central New Jersey,
New York and Pensylvania participated.
